1 Day in Kenya, Nairobi

Nairobi is the only place in the world with a National Park in the city. The Nairobi Safari Walk is a small taste of what you'd get in the Park. It's perfect for people who're in Nairobi for a short time & want a taste of Kenya's vast wild-life offering! :D

i) I would recommend taking an Uber from the Airport or your hotel to the Nairobi Safari Walk. The cab fare from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the Nairobi Safari Walk ranges from 10USD to about 15USD. ii) If you are leaving from your hotel or the Central Business District, the fares will vary, depending on distance and time.

Arrive & Pay Entrance Fee
$25
i) You will need your passport or identification documents if you are not a Kenyan citizen. ii) At the main gate, the uniformed guards will direct you to the Nairobi Safari Walk entrance. Tip: There's an option to dance with Local Masai's before venturing into the Park, and to take pictures with them. Ask about this at the main gate. This will attract an additional fee, that's not included in the entrance fee below. iii) Pay the entrance fee of 22 USD for adults and 13 USD for children (non-Kenyan citizens/ non-residents) and ensure you get a receipt. Keep your receipt on you and don't trash it! They usually check the receipt when you are leaving. iii) Request for a guided tour, if you wish, though that may attract additional costs.

Choose Guided Tour Vs. Solo Tour
$0
i) If you opted for the guided tour, your guide will walk you through, pointing out different animals and some interesting facts you probably didn't know. ii) But if you are a free spirit who wants to move at your own pace as you make some fun discoveries, then you probably opted not to take a guide... That's okay. There are signs placed on trees of the kind of animals you can expect plus interesting tidbits about them. Also, the walk around the Park is pretty direct so you are not likely to get lost. Plus you'll come across Rangers to guide you should you need help.

Encounter Wildlife Up, Close & Personal

This is the fun part! You will come across such beautiful beings as the Hippo swimming in its own private mud pool. And you can count on a leopard camouflaged on the high trees, watching you keenly or taking an afternoon nap... If you've always wanted a picture of a Lioness as a keepsake, you'll be spoiled for choice. The raised boardwalks offer ideal vantage points to view the animals. More animals to expect are :- Zebras, Antelopes, Giraffes and cheetahs... You will also be treated to unique sightings like the rare Albino Zebra and the White Rhino.
